How to effortlessly style a floral dress for Valentine’s Day

Floral is one of my favorite patterns to wear. So when Cleo Madison reached out to me asking if I would like to blog about one of their lovely dresses, I was delighted to see they had floral options! What girl can say no to flowers? And speaking of flowers…can you believe Valentine’s Day is just around the corner?!  I feel like it creeps up on me every year. John and I never really go big for Vday, but we do like to make it special for each other. Last year, we gifted each other Enso Rings and this year, we’re doing a date night dinner at The Prado.

This Valentine’s Day, I wanted to wear something simple yet fun, and easy to throw on for all the day’s festivities. So if you’re on the hunt for a flattering, soft, stretchy and nursing friendly dress, look no further than Cleo Madison <3 My two favorite things about this dress are the length, and that it’s nursing friendly (even though it’s not actually maternity)! It’s so hard to shop for clothes sometimes because I’m always looking for pieces I can nurse in that aren’t part of a maternity line. But sometimes, like with this dress, I score a piece that totally works!

I’m 5’4″ and usually midi dresses are awkwardly long on me. However, this length actually is pretty perfect! Plus, it would fit great over a third trimester bump. I had to retire the majority of my summer dresses last year because when my bump hit third trimester, none of my dresses covered enough to be worn modestly. And who wants to wear leggings or awkward shorts under a dress in the springtime?! This dress is a perfect length to wear all year round, during pregnancy, and postpartum. The colors in this dress are uhmaaazing. The tiny pops of blue are my favorite! When accessorizing, I like to pull out the smallest color in my outfit with my accessories. I chose these blue beaded earrings because they add texture and compliment the blues in the dress.

I also love to be playful with my hemlines — wearing the hem long with heels is timeless and dresses it up. Or, if I want to have a more laid back look, I can tie the side of the hem in a knot and pair it with sneakers. Though the neckline is high, the material is stretchy and I have no problem pulling it down comfortably to nurse izzy in. The material is also on the thicker side, so it provides a bit of warmth on those breezier days. And it’s so soft!! This dress is going to be a staple in my wardrobe this year for sure.
