– hi, i’m becca –
“I’m a sucker for a good adventure-mystery book. I love cats and dogs equally. Being outdoors away from cell service is my favorite thing. If I could live at Disneyland, I would. I have a thing for dark chocolate, warm drinks, and love turning everything into a party. I believe in encouragement, optimism, and the power of putting on lipstick.”
Hi friend! Welcome to The Mini Apartment blog. I’m so glad you’re here! You might be wondering, now what will I find here on your blog Becca? What are you about? There’s lots here for the everyday woman, wife, and mama wanting to pursue her inner real-girl and create an intentional lifestyle in her friendships, relationships, home life, and marriage. There’s real talk, humor, recipes, and encouragement geared towards those who crave community! Now here’s a bit about me —
My husband and I met in late 2013 while working at a pool while I lived in Washington state after college. When we were just 5 months into dating, I got into grad school back in San Diego and he told me right then that he wanted to marry me and wasn’t about to let me go! He moved down to California with me in 2014, we got married in 2016, had our first baby in 2017, and have another little one due May 2019 ❤
We are still living in Southern California, but really want to end up back in the northwest because we both love living in a place with seasons and mountains!
In early 2018, I decided to not return to work after my maternity leave ended so I could stay home with my first baby. It was a very hard transition for me, as I hadn’t not had some sort of job, part time or full time, since I turned 18. But I soon embraced it, and realized what a huge blessing it is for me to be able to stay home with my baby for this long! I now work from home as a Social Media Content Creator/Manager for a few local brands around San Diego, and as the Director of 2/3 Year Olds for North Coast Church.
I spend my free time chasing izzy around, working on my blog, catching up on my book lists (I love curling up with a good book, whenever I can find a minute of rest to do so!), and growing a tiny human (this second time around, pregnancy is a lot more exhausting!). Lately, I have been focusing on a slower-paced, more sustainable style of living so that I can be fully present with my family and live intentionally.
I started blogging almost 10 years ago while I was a wedding photographer, and then took a hiatus from blogging after I graduated college in 2012. I picked it up again as a creative outlet in 2014 (after I “retired” from wedding photography) while I was in graduate school and planning my own wedding. Since then my blog has ebbed and flowed into what it is today – a marriage and motherhood lifestyle blog that focuses on community building, real-girl living, and how to create your best intentional life throughout these seasons.
My story has seen valleys and mountains, laughter and tears, hope and heartbreak – it’s been messy and hard and wonderful and imperfect and full of grace. The goal of sharing my words here on the blog is with the hope that I can offer encouragement and support to those in similar seasons of life — ultimately to tell you that you are not alone, and we are in this together. Whether you are in a dating relationship, engaged, have been through the hard and lovely seasons of marriage, or if you’re in the wild ride of parenthood — you are welcome here!
The Mini Apartment Blog exists to inspire and encourage women who are amidst the seasons of marriage + motherhood to live vibrantly, stay happy, and stay sane as we all learn how to find magic in everyday moments. Here you’ll be surrounded by encouragement, humor, and a community of real-girls with amazing stories. Head to the blog to dive in!
