Hi friends! Happy Monday! I shared a bit about our choice to make the switch to sustainable, zero waste living last week on Instagram (if you don’t already follow along, I’d love if you joined the community!). Today, I’d love to go into more detail about our “why,” and share a few simple ways you can make this switch too! Continue reading
When I was pregnant with my first baby, there were so many items that were gifted to me or that I had purchased for myself to make life a bit more easier after baby came home with us. I rounded up the best gifts for the new mama that won’t cost you an arm and a leg below! These are perfect for mothers of any number of kiddos, whether it be their first baby or 5th.
Bringing home a new baby is a joyful adventure and every new mama will greatly appreciate the thoughtfulness you’re bringing with one of these cozy and intentional gifts. So make a list and check it twice – and gift that new mama something super nice! 😉 This list includes items from $3-$50, which makes it easy to pick and choose what to gift according to your budget.
I love everything about Fall – it’s my favorite season! I love having a fire burning, cozying up in a big chair under a blanket, making cookies and watching the leaves fall outside. But the only time I’ve ever been able to experience real fall weather like that was during those glorious years I lived in Washington state! I went apple picking, bundled up in layers, saw the leaves change colors and fall from trees, and even taught myself to crochet my own scarves. It was great.
Now that I’m back in San Diego where I grew up, the only “Fall” experience we get is if we have the AC on high and burn a scented candle, pretending it’s not still 80 degrees outside. Heck, the leaves don’t even change around here! And, you can still find people at the beach in December and January. This might sound like the perfect place to live for some, but for those of us who crave seasons and snow days, not so much. Ha!
There are still plenty of ways to make the most out of Fall if you live in a warm city that doesn’t get seasons, and lucky for us my blogger friend Lydia from Being Mrs. McIntosh made a list of 40 things to do if you live in a warm climate that I’m sharing with you all today! Continue reading
This is one of my favorite spaces in our mini apartment. Many months were spent in this corner reading books, having game nights with friends, facing challenges in our marriage, and taking naps with Izzy. It’s weird knowing that this is probably the last time we’ll live in an apartment, because our goal is to buy (or rent) a house at this time next year! And though I’m really excited for the possibility of buying our first home, there’s a small part of me that will be nostalgic for apartment life.
Friends, I’ve lived in 6 different apartments in the last 6 years in two different states. That’s a lot of moving, and a lot of roots to put down and pick back up again! There’s something so unique about apartment life that I’ve grown to embrace over the years Continue reading
I love planning parties and events! I DIY’d my entire wedding, styled/planned my own bridal shower and baby shower themes, and have hosted several parties like Christmas Cookie Exchanges and Girls’ Nights. So you better believe I couldn’t wait to plan a fun first birthday party for my daughter! The theme I went with was “A Swan Soiree” with touches of light pink, yellow, and mint. I had a plan on how I wanted her party to look, but I also wanted to make sure we stayed within a budget for decor and food.
So if you’re wanting to throw together a fun and memorable birthday party for your own little one, follow these helpful tips below for a thoughtful and well executed birthday bash.
Make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post because I linked almost all of the party decor and Izzy’s cute outfit + accessories! ❤
